The challenge
Schools are making decisions about AI faster than they can understand it, usually by writing a policy and hoping it holds. Intrepid Scholar does the slower work of building a school’s capacity to teach well in the AI era, and that depends on a credibility most firms can only half claim: real grounding in how students learn, plus real fluency with the tools. The brand had to make both legible at a glance, to heads of school and administrators, without looking like one more AI company selling into education.
The solution
The identity is built on growth, the idea that a school should leave an engagement more capable than it arrived. The mark starts from the open book, the most durable symbol in education, with the inner shapes lifting like pages turning to give the whole design upward motion. Rising from those pages is the four-point star now attached to nearly every AI tool a teacher or student touches, and the two read as one gesture: the star is not arriving from outside education, it is coming out of it. A serif wordmark and warm neutrals carry the weight schools expect, while the site consolidates the framework onto a single authoritative page and cuts dense institutional copy into modules an administrator can scan between meetings.

The results
Intrepid Scholar now reads as what it is, an education practice with genuine command of the tools, rather than a technology vendor pointed at schools. The site is structured for search, with per-page metadata, structured data, and a framework page built to own the terms schools are actually looking for. The identity carries across print, email, and social, so a two-person practice presents at the scale of the institutions it is pitching.
